How many medals India will win?

How many at the 2008 Summer Olympics? My answer is five. I expect two from shooting, one each from tennis, boxing and archery. Let’s wait and see. 🙂

  • Update: The contingent did well, considering their performance in Olympic history. The team bagged three medals in all, one gold and two bronzes. Here are the winners, congratulations to them!
    • Abhinav Bindra – Gold – Men’s 10 m air rifle shooting
    • Sushil Kumar – Bronze – Men’s 66 kg freestyle wrestling
    • Vijender Kumar – Bronze – 75 kg middleweight boxing

  1. Re: VidyaYes yes! And I expect one more from shooting, between Rathore and Narang. Mangal Singh in Archery, Lee-Hesh in Tennis, between Vijender and Akhil in Boxing are the others. Good to see Saina Nehwal's form too..>!

  2. Re: DeepakYes Deepak. Let’s see. Lee-Hesh made us unhappy, so did the other shooters. But then we have three boxers remaining in the competition.

  3. Hi Sreejith:I am happy that a few people were actually following India’s medal prospects in the Olympics. For me India shall be a ‘We-dont-care-about-sports-other-than-cricket’ country unless something changes dramatically.Cheers,Salil

  5. Re: CWFYes, India represented itself nicely. This was their best games overall. Indeed, it was great to see the records breaking at the games this time as well. I liked Phelps and Bolt really!
