Ludicrous Congress government blocks blogs!

The Congress government seems trying its best to bring back the state of emergency. The Ministry of Communication has ordered almost all the ISPs in the country to block some blogs on Blogger, Typepad and Geocities sites. Though there has not been an official clarification for this, chances are the blogs are blocked fearing terrorism! The IT experts with the government may be thinking that there is no other left for the terrorists to spread their theories and practicals. This has been there till the very inception of the Indian constituency. They fail to trace out the real culprits and end up catching innocents! I am wholly surprised to know that I am also (in effect) a terrorist!

Is there at least any 5 year old son or daughter with any of the ‘leaders’ of the Communication Ministry to tell them that they can register for a website for just Rs 500 and post or spread whatever they want to! Also there are many other blog hosts that have not been blocked, for instance WordPress. There are many friendship communities, email systems, and many such innovations that you can use to spread your tastes. These blogs and free websites were not the only potential tools to spread terrorism! Phew!

  1. this has got more to do with ISPs rather than govt…Ofcourse, banning a site is not gonna work in this world of proxies..but can’t understand why ISPs blocked blogger.com and sites like that entirely.

  2. the isps blaming the govt. for the blunder… the govt. does it’s own share of blaming (or are they even sure why they wanna do this???) & everyone wants to come out with clean hands. hmmmpppfff!sree, you must ve checked out the list of 20 blogs blocked. as you may know, some of them don’t contain a line of derogatory. =))the govt. is terribly mistaken if they think that they can stifle an aching voice by ‘blocking’ a few bloghosters.

  3. <>Re: Ajith<>The Ministry of Communication had ordered the ISPs to block certain blogs and sites, about 17. But they blocked all the blogspot, typepad and geocities ones. They are no fools to act such silly. Surely they must have been ordered to block all!

  4. <>Re: Akhil<>Correct you are! The govt cannot stop open voices. Many govts have tried worldwide, but there were paladins all the while! Yep, the ISPs and the govt blaming each other! How long can they extend this drama by mud-slinging! Quite rightly, these fools need to be flogged in public!

Foreigners who know that India is a outsoucing hamlet would now wonder the strength and depth of knowledge we have got in IT and related areas. This indeed is a black mark.India was no democratic country for taht whole week!

  8. You are so damn right! Are they idiots or what? If this is their way of combatting terrorism, then they should be putting a stop to telephone calls, snail mail and the Internet in general!I was really pissed off too! But thankfully things are back to normal again!

  9. <>Re: Strictly for my Friends<>Yes, if the govt is going crazy like this, we need to disconnect all telephone connections, stop using any email addresses and what if the terrorists use snail mail? The govt should be allowed to open and check individual letters too! Phew!
